Catalyst
Ship Overview
Operated by: Pacific Catalyst
Built as a government research vessel in 1932, MV Catalyst is a classic 12-guest small ship constructed with the finest of craftsmanship. Her warm, wooden interior features decades-old varnished wood panelling, heavy beamed ceilings and glowing mahogany trim and furniture. Her original 1932 Washington Diesel engine, the only one like it still in operation today, makes Catalyst a living creature, with a strong iron heart. The pace of a Catalyst cruise is relaxed and unhurried, but the original excitement of exploration and discovery remains on board. There are a total of six cabins for guests. Lower Deck cabins share one washroom with shower. There is a second head on the Upper Deck next to the main salon. Cabins 1 and 6 have their own head and shower. Excursion tenders include an inflatable zodiac, a four-metre aluminum tender and a fleet of nine sea kayaks.
