Every meal is handcrafted by the executive chefs to ensure innovative, nutritious, and delectable dining experiences that highlight flavors of the region.
In Coastal Washington, you’ll likely sample Hama Hama oysters, shucked by the 5th generation family farmers who cultivated them. And in Alaska, savor buttery-rich Dungeness crab caught live by local fisherman.
Unless there’s a specially arranged barbecue or lunch on shore, most dinners are served over several courses—with particular attention to your personal preferences. The dining experience is casual, and seating is open so you are free to join new friends and choose a different table at every meal.
Wherever possible, ingredients are sourced locally for freshness and regional authenticity, as well as to support the local communities and protect and preserve the oceans. Committed to sustainability throughout all aspects of our business, Un-Cruise Adventures are proud to be the first cruise partner of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Program.
The Wilderness Explorer is equipped for active adventure and is outfitted with kayaks, paddle boards, inflatable skiffs, hiking poles, and yoga mats, a hydrophone for listening below the water, and a bow-mounted underwater camera for viewing in-water action. An EZ Dock launch platform allows for easy access into the water. Onboard wellness amenities include fitness equipment and hot tub.
With an emphasis on exhilarating explorations in remote wilderness, Un-Cruise Adventures' expert naturalists lead hiking and kayaking tours of varying lengths and activity levels. To ensure ample space for included adventure activities, there is a swim step on the ship’s main deck aft which serves as a launch pad for excursions and the kayak launch platform which can safely launch five kayaks at a time. A professional masseuse is part of the crew and massages are available for a fee. Other adventure activities aboard the Wilderness Explorer include stand-up paddleboarding, skiff explorations and whale watching. Snorkelling is available for a fee. Complimentary on-deck stretching classes are offered each morning. An American crew offers a 3:1 guest to crew ratio for excellent standards in service and guiding.
