Pathways to Franklin
DURATION:10 Days/ 9 NightsREGION:ArcticSHIP:Akademik Sergey Vavilov
This voyage will appeal to both lovers of wildlife and the dramatic history of early polar exploration. Trace the routes of the early explorers who sailed - and perished - in these waters as they sought a way through the fabled Northwest Passage. The itinerary includes a visit to one of the largest migratory bird sanctuaries in the world, and frequent sightings of seals as well as beluga whale. Encounter polar bears at
special locations that the expedition team have discovered over the years. Frequent shore landings in the company of expert guides allow exploration on foot, observing wildlife, Arctic flora, and points of historical interest. All of this is set against a backdrop of epic Arctic scenery and massive skies. This is an ideal introduction to small ship expedition cruising in the remote Canadian Arctic.
